Interview Sidekick is a Chrome extension. That architecture decision leaks into every interview. Chrome extensions show up on screen-share, get blocked by enterprise IT, and disappear when you switch to Edge, Brave, or Safari. Candidates looking for an Interview Sidekick alternative are usually looking for something that still works when the interviewer says 'share your whole screen.'
Native desktop versus a browser add-on
InterviewLift is a native macOS and Windows app. The overlay is excluded at the OS level, not hidden at the window level. It works on Zoom, Teams, and Meet regardless of which browser — or no browser — you used to join. That is the execution difference. The category is the same.
Hidden from screen-share the way IT actually checks
Window-level hiding fails the moment someone asks for entire-screen share or a second display. InterviewLift's OS-level exclusion is what we test every month against current Zoom, Teams, and Meet builds. If undetectability is the reason you opened Sidekick, it should be the reason you leave it.
A real question bank, not a thin prompt list
Interview Sidekick's question coverage is minimal. InterviewLift ships 48,000+ verified, company-specific questions with a weekly refresh — so you prepare against what that company actually asked, not a generic cheat sheet.
When Sidekick is still enough
- Your interviews are Chrome-only and never require full-screen share.
- You do not need resume help, auto-apply, or mock interviews.
- Enterprise IT has not blocked extensions on your interview laptop.
